Smoothie: Recipe for Quick Energy for a Fast Paced Lifestyle

Most of us live a busy lifestyle and find it hard to

take the time to get the daily recommended amount of

fruits and vegetables we need. Smoothies can be made

in no more that a couple of minutes and can give you

that morning booste to get through the day. Throw

your favorite fruits into a blender with yogurt or

milk and a touch of sweetner and you have all the

essentials vitamins, antioxidants, minerals. Many

times I will make my smoothies in the evening before

going to bed and put it in the fridge where I can

grab it on the way out the door. How many times do

we buy fresh fruit and put it in the refridgerator

and it ends up going bad and you end up throwing it

away. Where a fruit may not fit into a daily

routine, a fruit smoothie drink fits easily and best

of all, it’s healthy for you! Every morning I start

the day with this fruit smoothie recipe combo:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups of Organic Kefir (you can use yogurt too)
  • 1/2 cup blackberries
  • 1/2 cup raspberries


I use frozen organic fruit most of the time but not

always. blend the above together and see if don’t

make your day a little better!

Welcome to Fruit Smoothie Universe!

Hi and welcome to the fruit smoothie universe website! My name is Joe Welch and I am passionate about fruit smoothies. The reason I have such a passion for smoothies is they literally saved my life! About two years ago I was at my doctors office for a routine visit, my doctor came in and sat down in front of me and stared intently in my eyes and told me, “Joe, you are going to have to take immediate action or you are in for some serious problems!” You see, I was a 46 year old man suffering from obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and other serious problems with my health. My weight on that visit was 335 lbs. and rising and I was taking a dozen medications along with a daily insulin shot. On that day I made a commitment to my wife that I was going to face this head on and going to take control of my health issues, after all it was apparent that I was the only one who could do it! I began to read about different diets and decided to buy the book “The Makers Diet” by Jordan S. Rubin and that is where I learned about fruit smoothies. Two years after that fateful office visit with my doctor I have been able to lose over 50 Lbs. and had many of my daily drug regimen reduced including no more injections! I plan on losing 50 more pounds by my 50th birthday and I want to share the healthy, delicious, and downright awesome way that the simple little smoothie has changed my life and hopefully help others who may looking for encouragement. Over the next few weeks I will be bringing online many helpful tips and guides to making the most healthy smoothies, great smoothie recipes and the latest medical articles that are coming out on the benefits of adding smoothies to your daily diet. It is my goal to bring you every resource available to assist others like me, that want to make a change in their lifestyle.
