How to make a delicious (healthy) fruit smoothie?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Just want to know how to make a good fruit smoothie. One request, NO BANANA, it makes me sick!

I often use frozen fruits instead of ice but you can add juice or milk to make it more drinkable. Yogurt is definitely good in my opinion but any kind of fruit works (berries are my favorite). Also a splash of vanilla extract is good. Just throw stuff in the blender and experiment. It’s fun.

Any recipes for tasty yet healthy smoothies? I’m a big fan of strawberry and bananerss :)?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

I’m a teen athlete and lovee to eat but want to make healthy choices. And fruit smoothies are my fav! Which blend setting should I set it to as well?

I’ve also put Vanilla Frozen Yogurt with these

1 cup orange juice
1 cup strawberry
2 cups yogurt
4 small bananas
Honey to taste

Directions:
Place all the ingredients in a blender.

Blend on high speed until smooth.

_________________________________________

1 cup strawberry
1 medium size ripe banana (preferably cold)
1 cup cold milk
1 teaspoon sugar
a few drops vanilla essence
a few drops imitation coconut essence (optional)

Method:
Place ice cubes into a blender, crush cubes. Place all other ingredients into blender and blend until thick. The colder the milk and banana the thicker the smoothie

What’s a good recipie to make a good fruit smoothie, similar to Jamba Juice?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

What is the best way to make an all natural fruit smoothie?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

I am looking for the best way to make a HEALTHY ALL natural fruit smoothie. Using no sugar syrups, ice cream or any crushed ice. Does anyone have any recipes or suggestions? I am looking for a nice consistency "thickness" to the smoothie also. Thank you.

well you can use a variety of different fruits. you could use frozen fruits and fresh fruit. add some juice, milk, sorbet or yougurt to your smoothie.

Sunrise smoothie
1 cup chopped ripe strawberries (5 large strawberries)
1 cup chopped seeded watermelon
1 cup chopped fresh peach
1 cup raspberry sorbet
1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

Place the strawberries, watermelon, peach, sorbet, and orange juice in a blender and puree until smooth and creamy. Add more orange juice if you’d like it a little less thick. Serve immediately in tall glasses with straws.

Wake up smoothie
1 large ripe banana, peeled and sliced
1 cup hulled strawberries
1/2 cup raspberries, or peeled and sliced kiwi (about 2)
1 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons honey

Place all the ingredients in the blender and process on high speed until smooth, about 30 to 45 seconds.
Pour into glasses and serve.

Fresh fruit smoothie
1/2 cup soy milk (or other milk)
1/2 cup white grape juice
1 cup strawberries, stemmed
1/2 cup pineapple chunks
1/2 lemon, squeezed (for tartness if desired)
1/4 teaspoon Vitamin C powder (1 capsule)
Pinch salt, preferable grey salt
Small handful fresh seedless grapes

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth.

Very tasty and healthy fruit smoothies anyone?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

i am currently on a fruit diet and i am getting sick of eating plain fruits everyday. so today i woke up and thought about making myself a smoothie. so i was wondering if anyone had any good recipes for making smoothies, using only fruits, yogurt and milk if necessary.

thanks, i really appreciate it.

merry Christmas

I buy fresh fruits when they’re in season and freeze them myself cuz it’s cheaper than buying frozen fruits. Frozen fruits are better to use in smoothies so you don’t have to use ice. Peel and cut fruits up and lay them on a cookie sheet before putting in the freezer. Then they freeze individually instead of in a big clump. Bananas, pineapple, strawberries, and other berries are my favorites.

I prefer non-dairy smoothies and just use frozen fruit and OJ or pineapple juice. Because I’m a vegetarian and use a smoothie as my morning meal I will also use a protein, greens powder like Greens Plus.

Sometimes I’ll just use chocolate soy milk and frozen bananas. Then add strawberries or peanut butter. SO good.

I don’t think you can really go wrong. Experiment!
